Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School celebrated Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week this year with an exciting week of events!
Students had the opportunity to make friendship bracelets, a creative activity that symbolized their commitment to kindness and inclusivity, and foster a sense of unity among them, as they shared their creations with friends and classmates.
Another meaningful activity was mindful coloring, which gave students the chance to relax, focus, and reflect on the message of the week. As they colored calming patterns and designs, students were encouraged to practice mindfulness, a powerful tool for managing stress and cultivating positive emotions. This activity also provided a moment for students to think about how they can make a difference by treating others with kindness and respect.
Other activities included giant Jenga and Connect 4, and the "Carr Love Chain", where students created a paper chain of positive affirmations. We concluded this very important week with a special giveaway and Pink Shirt Day.
Overall, this year's Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week was a success in empowering students to take a stand against bullying and to promote a culture of kindness and understanding. By engaging in thoughtful and creative activities, our students developed a deeper understanding of bullying and learned practical ways to contribute to a positive and supportive school environment.
